Reverend James D. (Jim) Bolton, Pastor To the Bold Springs Church Family and Community:
Many of our church know that our adversary is still in the business of stealing, killing and destroying. We continue to face adversity but we must be reminded that "greater is He that is within us than he that is in the world." One of our great saints, Mona McCollum, gave me an article that was sent to her and she said it was for my encouragement. I want to share it with you, family and community, in case you too are discouraged. It is from a Pastor Mike who otherwise is unidentified and is titled "Working Together". "The huge Redwood trees of California amaze mankind. They are the largest living things on the earth and the tallest trees in the world. Some of them reach a height of over 300 feet and are over 3000 years old. One would believe that trees so large must have a tremendous root system that reaches down hundreds of feet into the earth. But that is not the case. The Redwoods have very shallow root systems. The Redwoods root system all intertwine. They are locked to each other. When the storms come, the winds blow, and the lightening flashes, the Redwoods still stand. They are locked to each other. They are not alone for all the trees support and protect each other. Each tree is important to all the other trees in the grove. As I read this facinating story I could not help but think of the church. In the church we are not alone, we fellowship with one another and with Christ. We as members of the church and Christ can face the harsh storms of life because our souls are intertwined with our fellow Christians. Without fellowship, the church is useless. By our love we show the world the difference Jesus makes. Paul said in Ephesians 3:17-19, "That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height--to know the love of Christ which passes all knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God." It is my prayer...that we will be as the Redwoods of California. I pray that we will develop even deeper love for one another. Remember, I love you. This is my prayer also for Bold Springs Baptist Church. I pray our love for one another will deepen through the adversity. I hope to see you all in Sunday School and worship. And I hope you will remember, I love you too. October 2011
If you are in our community and if you are seeking a place where you can grow and serve in the kingdom of God, I pray you will consider Bold Spring Baptist Church as your place to worship the living Lord, Jesus Christ. We are Teaching, Serving, Growing and Reaching for Him. Jesus Christ, Head of the Church Every member a minister Jim Bolton, Pastor.
